I Miss the Masks

Okay, I miss the masks. I admit it.

I loved how masks covered the lines leading from the corner of my nose to the corner of my mouth. I loved how masks made my jaw look smaller and more delicate, emphasizing my eyes. I loved how masks hid the little softness under my chin that has started to appear since I turned forty. A mask erased fifteen years off my face every time I put one on. It was an old-school Snapchat filter.
